Animation Workshop

Ankara Accessible Film Festival is realizing an animation workshop with the children with impaired hearing between 9-12 ages.

Berat İlk who is a lecturer at İstanbul Bilgi University since 6 years will first give basic animation information and the short history of animation to the participants. After watching the entertaining animation films done with different technics, the participant children will have the chance to animate the materials such as play dough, pencil, rubber and make short animations. After ending the workshop, they will return their homes with the characters they create and the stories they develop.

Berat Ilk has been teaching at Istanbul Bilgi University VCD department since 2006. Within the framework of Istanbul 2010 European Capital of Culture activities, he realized Animators Talent Camp with the collaboration of Istanbul Bilgi University. After making The Camp a yearly organization, he founded the Animators Association in 2011 and the Turkish branch of ASIFA in 2012. In 2013 took place the first edition of the Animators Festival directed by Berat Ilk. He still teaches in Istanbul Bilgi University and Eskişehir Anatolian University as well as realizing animation workshops with the children at different platforms.
