Screenwriting Workshop For Everyone

Ankara Accessible Film Festival realizes a screenwriting workshop for the first time with the visually impaired who would like to express themselves by means of cinema. 

Realizing in collaboration with British Council, the workshop will be instructed by Ceyda Aşar who acts with the principle of “everybody can write screenplay.” During the workshop, the essential knowledge about designing the film story, creating characters, classical narrative structure and writing dialogues will be taught. Along with the theoretical knowledge, the audio-described scenes from the films will be interpreted and writing exercises which will ensure the participants to be active will be made. We will discover the hidden potentials in us with this workshop.

Ceyda Aşar
Born in 1975, Ceyda Aşar’s first story book Ladies’ Room was published in 2006 by Artemis-Alfa Publishing House. She completed her master degree at Bahçeşehir University, Department of Cinema and TV in 2010. She worked as a film critic for various magazines and newspapers. She co-wrote the story and the screenplay of the film But Müzeyyen, That’s The Deepest Desire which is included in the Competition Without Barriers program of the Festival this year. Her feature film screenplay called Failure was among three films from Turkey selected to the !f Sundance Screenwriters’s Lab. She gave workshop on Film Analysis and Film Criticism for 6 weeks at Ankara CerModern Museum. She currently continues her workshop series on screenwriting at Istanbul GalataPerform.
