Screenwriting Workshop For Everyone

Ankara Accessible Film Festival realizes a screenwriting workshop in collaboration with British Council with the participants aged 15-45 years. The instructor of the workshop Ceyda Aşar is starting from the point of view of “everybody can write screenplay.”. Aşar will give essential knowledge about designing the film story, creating characters, classical narrative structure and writing dialogues during the workshop. The participants will practice writing exercises with the help of games as well as watch and interpret the audio-described scenes from the films. We will discover the hidden potentials in us with this workshop.

The workshop is accessible for the visually and hearing impaired participants and it is free of charge.

Ceyda Aşar
Born in 1975, Ceyda Aşar’s first story book Ladies’ Room was published in 2006 by Artemis-Alfa Publishing House. She completed her master degree at Bahçeşehir University, Department of Cinema and TV in 2010. She took part in national film festivals as a jury member. She gave lectures on screenwriting at different institutions. She still continues her workshop series on screenwriting at Istanbul GalataPerform. She co-wrote the story and the screenplay of the film But Müzeyyen, That’s The Deepest Desire with the director. She wrote the screenplay of the film Coastliners competing at the 35th İstanbul International Film Festival, Human Rights In Cinema Competition. Her feature film screenplay called Failure was among three films from Turkey selected to the !f Sundance Screenwriters’s Lab.
