From World

The section From World, where we feature films that have won awards from remarkable festivals, has two guests this year: Ce Magnifique Gâteau! (This Magnificent Cake!) and Corpus Christi.

Set in an African colony at the end of the 19th century; Telling the stories of a troubled king, a middle-aged Pygmy working at a luxury hotel, a failed businessman on a trip, a lost porter and a young deserter, Ce Magnifique Gâteau! (This Magnificent Cake!) is a stunning animation about the history of colonialism.

Competing in the 92nd Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film with films such as Parasite, Pain and Glory, and Honeyland, Corpus Christi is a powerful drama that revolves around themes such as dogmatic belief, submission, and devotion. The film, in which director Jan Komasa tells the story of 20-year-old Daniel, who decided to become a priest after leaving his detention center, stands out with the acting of Bartosz Bielenia.

The festival will be held between 12-18 October online and can be followed all over Turkey.
