The finalists of the Short Film Competition have been announced!

The text reads: "Finalists of the short film competition are announced," with four green and two navy blue squares of different sizes placed on a white background, accompanied by navy blue letters.

A total of 121 submissions from 23 countries were reviewed by the selection committee, consisting of film critic Aslı Ildır, editor Baran Bozdağ, and Accessible Film Festival Program Coordinator Kaan Denk. They have selected 14 films, which will be showcased to both the jury members and the audience during October 20-26, 2023.

The Short Film Competition features 14 films from 10 different countries:

  8. Istanbul Istanbul (TURKEY), Dir: Demir Özcan
  9. Love Has Nothing To Do With It (ISRAEL), Dir: Yotam Knispel
  10. On the Edge (AUSTRIA), Dir: Matteo Sanders
  11. Sister (SWITZERLAND), Dir: Dorentina Imeri
  12. Sleeping Beauty (RUSSIA), Dir: Jana Nedzvetskaya
  13. Split Ends (IRAN), Dir: Alireza Kazemipour
  14. The Other (IRAN), Dir: Negah Sohrabi

The Best Film award, to be decided by the competition jury, comes with a prize of $1,000. The winners of the Best Director and Best Screenplay awards will each receive a cash prize of $500. As for the Audience Choice award, the audience, both in the cinema hall and online, will have the opportunity to cast their votes and determine the winner.
