Accessible Film Festival Gets Underway

In an area featuring large glass panels and broad-leaved green plants in the background, a group of people is sitting on chairs arranged side by side. Most of these individuals are dressed in dark, formal clothing, with their faces turned directly forward. Among the group sitting in the front row, one man distinctly stands out from the surrounding dark-clad crowd by wearing a bright yellow jacket.

The Accessible Film Festival opens its doors on April 24 at the Goethe-Institut Ankara. Running until April 30, the festival program features: Kaleidoscope, showcasing the latest films by master directors such as the Dardenne brothers, Mario Martone, and Sergei Loznitsa; Auditorium, dedicated to the iconic figure of music history, Charles Aznavour; the Short Film Competition, where 15 finalist films selected from 182 submissions will vie for awards; the For Children section awaiting young cinephiles; and an Autism-Friendly Screening.

All screenings are free of charge and presented accessibly with audio description and closed captions for the hearing impaired. Additionally, all films will be screened with English subtitles.
