Ali Abbasi
Born in 1981 in Iran, Ali Abbasi has a background in literature with several short stories published in Persian. In 2002 he travelled to Europe, where he settled in Stockholm, Sweden to study architecture. After his graduation in 2007, he enrolled at the National Film School of Denmark where he studied directing. After directing two short films, his first feature Shelley was screened in the Panorama section at Berlinale in 2016. His second feature film Border premiered at the Festival de Cannes where it won the Un Certain Regard Prize.
