Asghar Farhadi

Born in Iran in 1972. He studied theater and film at Tehran University, then directed for Iranian television while also making short films. His debut feature Dancing in the Dust was screened at festivals internationally. His third feature Fireworks Wednesday was an award winner at the Locarno Film Festival 2006. His breakout film About Elly won the Best Director award at Berlinale in 2009. He won both a Golden Globe and an Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film with his film A Separation.
