Ertem Eğilmez

Born in 1929 in Trabzon. Graduated from Istanbul University, Department of Economy. He started his cinema career by founding Efe Film in 1961 and Arzu Film in 1964. He directed Fatoş’un Fendi Tayfur’u Yendi in 1964. His film Bir Millet Uyanıyor won the best historical film at Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival in 1967. The upcoming films of Eğilmez won a great box-office success. He became one of the immortal directors of Turkey with his film Arabesque (1989).
