Gus Van Sant

Born in Kentucky, USA in 1952. He is one of the most important filmmakers in contemporary American cinema. Along with independent films, he also took part in commercial projects. He won a Palme d'Or at Cannes Film Festival in 2003 with his film Elephant. In addition to films, he has also directed music videos for artists such as David Bowie, Elton John and Red Hot Chili Peppers.
