Jean-Pierre Dardenne, Luc Dardenne
Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne began their cinema journey with political documentaries in the 1970s following their education. After founding their own production company, the duo moved into fiction with the 1987 film “Falsch." They gained international recognition with "La Promesse" in 1996 and won their first Palme d'Or for "Rosetta" in 1999. With "L’Enfant" in 2005, they received their second Palme d'Or, joining the very exclusive club of world filmmakers. Known for their social realist style, the directors deeply explored themes of migration, ethics, and youth. Having won numerous awards at Cannes, the brothers continued their success most recently with "Tori and Lokita."
