Mario Martone
Mario Martone made his cinematic debut with Death of a Neapolitan Mathematician (1992) which won the Grand Jury Prize at Venice. Troubling Love was in competition at Cannes Film Festival in 1995 as was Nostalgia in 2022. His films, including Leopardi and The King of Laughter, often deal with artists and their lives. He is also a theatre and opera director, having had works performed in major theatres in Italy and abroad.
