Miloš Forman
Born in 1932 in Czechoslovakia, Forman was one of the most important directors of the Czech New Wave. He studied screenwriting at the Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts in Prague. His first film was the short, Audition. He followed with the feature films Black Peter, Loves of a Blonde and The Firemen’s Ball, all of which gained him international fame. During the Prague Spring and the Soviet invasion of Czechoslovakia, Forman emigrated to the USA. His films he directed in the USA have received many awards including Oscar, Golden Globe, BAFTA, Cesar.
