Pelin Esmer

Born in Istanbul. After graduating from Boğaziçi University, Department of Sociology, she continued the cinema workshop of Yavuz Özkan for a year. She worked as first assistant director in feature, documentary and commercial films. Her first documentary film, The Collector (2002) was screened in many festivals. She made her first feature documentary The Play in 2005. The Play was invited to many film festivals and it received many awards including "The Best New Documentary Filmmaker Award" in Tribeca Film Festival. Her first feature film “10 to 11” was premiered in San Sebastian Film Festival and received many awards in various festivals around the world
