Sergei Loznitsa
Sergei Loznitsa turned to cinema after a scientific career in applied mathematics and artificial intelligence. Having directed 28 award-winning documentaries and 5 fiction films since 1996, the director continues his work in Europe. He drew attention in the main competition at the Cannes Film Festival with his debut fiction film "My Joy" (2010). He won the FIPRESCI prize for "In the Fog" in 2012 and the Best Director award at Cannes for "Donbass" in 2018. He gained great international prestige with works such as "Babi Yar. Context" and "Mr. Landsbergis." Founder of the production company Atoms & Void in 2013, the artist continues to work on both documentary and fiction projects.
