At the end of the 1990s, political polarisation and tensions  between religious and secular in Turkey are increasing. Fourteen-year-old Ahmet is sent by his father to a religious dormitory. Ahmet works hard to be the perfect son but he has trouble fitting in with rough kids at the dormitory, and feels isolated in his secular day school, where he hides his new home from his classmates.
