Other Ways of Listening

With the new government that came to power in France in 1981 with the promise of ‘changing life’, the Ministry of Culture provided support to the major creators of avant-garde music to improve their methods of producing and listening to music. Seizing the opportunity, Luc Ferrari founded the collective La Muse en Circuit in 1982. This documentary explores the 40-year history of the collective dedicated to the development of non-standard music, taking the viewer behind the scenes of experiments in sound creation.
