Ertem Göreç

Ertem Göreç, one of the directors who made his mark on Turkish cinema, was born in Bursa in 1931. Having started his career in cinema by editing, Göreç made his directorial debut with ‘Kanlı Sevda’ in 1960. He made many important social realist films of the period, especially 1964's “Those Awakening in the Dark”. He passed away in 2021 at the age of 89.
