Istanbul today... Women are struggling to keep ground in public and there is an Ottoman craze as an antidote to western culture. Aylin is a young business student living in a dormitory who dreams of becoming an actress. In order to get rid of her oppressive father and build her own life, she wants to get the role of a concubine in a popular Ottoman TV show. Street performer Frida rehearses her unfinished play in public spaces. Lale, a well-known actress, runs a small theater and gives acting courses. She struggles to keep her theater alive in spite of economic difficulties and negative effects of cultural change.
